90.2 percent mortgages arecurrent and performing at the end of the first quarter of 2013 according to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC)[1]. This number is up from 89.4 percent at the end of 2012 and 88.9 percent during the same period the previous year. Readers should note, however, that the OCC report represents only a little more than half (55 percent) of all existing mortgages and is based on data from only seven national banks and federal savings associations.
