$157,600 is the average national home value, in dollars, at the end of Q1 2013 according to the Zillow Home Value Index (ZHVI)[1]. In March 2013, home values rose for the 16th consecutive month and were up 5.1 percent year-over-year. Analysts called this appreciation rate “unsustainable” in the long run, and predict that appreciation will slow but not reverse in the coming year.
